The Atholl Scottish Country Dance Club meets weekly, every Tuesday, from mid-September to mid-May. There is a break for a couple of weeks at Christmas. Click here for the dates to May 2024. Scroll down to see videos of the club! Dancing starts at 19:30, and continues till approx 21:45, with a break. Visitors are most welcome at all our events.
There is live music each week, usually provided by Iain MacPhail leading a three-piece band.
We usually have 16 dances on the programme each week, with the time balanced between reels, jigs and strathspeys.
Most dances are not walked-through or recapped, but programmes are published on this website, at least a fortnight in advance, in time for you to do your homework. Dances which are new to the club or are little-known are walked through.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, we have not supplied drinks and a snack at half-time, so you will need bring your own.
Membership of the club for the 2023/24 season costs £10, valid from the date of joining till August 2024. Members pay £8 each night, reduced to £6 for those under 30.
Visitors are very welcome and are charged £10 per night: they are encouraged to join and may put the extra £2s they have paid towards the membership fee. Visitors under 30 are charged £6.
Party nights! We have a special evening on our last evening before Christmas and at our last evening in May. We have a longer dance programme, refreshments at the interval, and a later finishing time.
